Baseball truly is America's pasttime. Where else would a nonprofit organization be able to not only exist but thrive as an entity that supports and facilitates the futures of young lives through baseball? You guessed it--right here in Big D, in the good ol' US of A. For the last ten years, the Dallas-based Heroes Baseball Club has been enriching the lives of area youths by providing them with access to the best coaches and players in the metroplex, so that they might have a chance to advance their lives through the game. On Saturday, baseball fanatics (and celebrity fiends) will have the chance to not only support this great organization, but also spy some famous faces at the Reebok 2010 Celebrity Baseball Game, starting at 6 p.m. at Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco. The roster for the game includes Mark Cuban, Mike Modano, Jason Kidd and DeMarcus Ware, with a host of other pro athletes and celebrities on hand as well. The evening will include a home run derby and a fireworks finale that promises to be as American as apple pie...and, er, baseball. Tickets range from $5 to $15 and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com. Call 1-800-745-3000 for more information.
