Want to avoid the loud booms and sparkly sky madness this Fourth of July weekend? We won't hold it against you--we know you're celebrating Independence Day in your heart, but we do have something you can enjoy. This Thursday through Sunday, July 1 through 4, Michael Colyar will be headlining the Arlington Improv (309 Curtis Mathes Way, No. 147). You might know Colyar from his Grand Prize Comedy Championship on Star Search back in 1990. Too old school for you? Well, he also starred in the film The Longshot with Ice Cube and recently lent his voice to the popular animated flick The Princess and the Frog. You better catch him this weekend, before he leaves for Africa to shoot a comedy concert with DL Hughley and Wayne Brady. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20. Visit improv.com.
