The Old-Fashioned Family Fireworks Picnic promises music ranging from "Elvis to the Eagles to Tchaikovsky's explosive 1812 Overture." Performances of the 1812 Overture traditionally incorporate cannon blasts. Instead, they should use the cannonballs to obliterate the orchestra if they start into "Hotel California." Performances are 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Lawn tickets are $16 in advance, $20 at the gate and free for kids younger than 10, with table seats available.
