The City of Your Final Destination is as provocative as the title suggests. Based on the book of the same name, the film follows graduate student Omar (Omar Metwally), who wants to write an authorized biography of a Uruguayan novelist who committed suicide. His request having been rejected by the author's estate, Omar travels to Uruguay to persuade the "family"--widow Caroline (Laura Linney), mistress Arden (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and brother Adam (Anthony Hopkins)--otherwise. Naively, Omar becomes embroiled in their intensely private wars--"We must co-conspire," Adam tells him--in this hallmark James Ivory (A Room with a View, The Remains of the Day) production. City of Your Final Destination, rated PG-13, is this weekend's Magnolia at the Modern selection at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St. The film will be screened at 6 and 8 p.m. Friday, 5 p.m. Saturday and 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $8.50, or $6.50 for Modern members, and are available for purchase starting two hours prior to the show. For more information, visit themodern.org.
