The argument for organics doesn't begin and end with consumables. In fact, there aren't many things we can think of that wouldn't benefit from the TLC that organic gardening provides. Did you know that, just like your dinner plate, your yard can reap the benefits of an organic upbringing? Randy Johnson will tell you how and why at Organic University. Johnson, director of horticulture at Texas Discovery Gardens, will share how to grow sustainable, organic perennials and shrubs organically in Texas' temperamental climate. Organic University is in session from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Texas Discovery Gardens at Fair Park, 3601 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Admission is $16 for members, $20 for nonmembers.
