Empty Red Bull cans don't have to be an unwelcome reminder of last night's Jagerbombs. With a little imagination (and maybe a dash of Jager for inspiration) they can become a work of art. The maker of the energy drink asked artists, dabblers and anyone else with a creative streak to create something inspired by--or made from--those slim silver and blue cans. Past entries span several different media including sculpture--such as a tri-colored flying pig or a silver-plated apple--and photography. More than a thousand Red Bull cans are scattered ankle-deep around pretty people artfully lounging in a photo aptly named "Girls Gone Red Bull." The trash turned into treasure is the highlight of Red Bull Art of Can, a rotating exhibition hosted in a handful of U.S. cities. The art submitted to the Dallas-area competition will be on display for three weeks in a custom-designed gallery at the Galleria Dallas, 13350 Dallas Parkway.
