Coasting Through Recovery

As the cleanup of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill will most likely continue for years, part of the recovery effort is to carry on the legacy of the Gulf Coast region by understanding and appreciating its beautiful and fragile nature. The Valley House Gallery & Sculpture Garden and Trinity River Audubon Center are helping to carry on that legacy with their presentation of Shorelines, a group exhibition which will continue through August 21. During the exhibit, the center will host events including the Salon Series #4 talk, a tour of the Trinity River Audubon Center and the Bird Watching 101 class on August 5, 7 and 21, respectively. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the National Audubon Society's Gulf Coast Oil Disaster Fund and the Trinity River Audubon Center. For details on times and location, call 972-239-2441 or visit valleyhouse.com.
Mondays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: Aug. 4. Continues through Aug. 21, 2010
