Some countries require citizens to give a couple years of their life to military service, but America ought to require citizens to do a stint in food service. Pizza delivery is like a crash course in economics, customer relations and human psychology. It can also inspire; Jeremy Smith's experiences in the industry provided fodder for his Ropeburn series of sometimes-sad, sometimes-uplifting cartoons. His work, along with Billy Zinser's cartoonish abstract paintings and "Macrodon" miniature sculptures, are on display in Solo Exhibitions of New Work from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays through September 4 at The Public Trust, 2919-C Commerce St. Call 214-760-7170 or visit trustthepublic.com.
Wednesdays-Saturdays. Starts: July 17. Continues through Sept. 4, 2010
