More About

The Photographs Do Not Bend Gallery, 1202 Dragon St., will show its new exhibit, Tales from the Crypt, through the end of summer. Not to be confused with the HBO series hosted by the "Crypt Keeper," the show features numerous photographs rescued from the gallery's archives. It features dug-up work from both known and unknown photographers and covers a wide range of themes from Randal Ford's cow portraits to the colorless, poetic images of Eastern Europe by photographer Igor Malijevsky. In addition, a group of crime-scene and mobster photos, which were featured in the show Scene of the Crime ten years ago, will be on display. As a testament to vernacular photography, Tales from the Crypt reaches as far back as studio portraits from the late 19th century to demonstrate the range and distinctiveness of the medium. Catch it from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, through September 4. For more information, visit pdnbgallery.com.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: July 31. Continues through Sept. 4, 2010
