No Peace, No Nookie

Women in ancient Greece sure knew how to control their menfolk. Or, at least the fictional ones did. In the classic play Lysistrata by Aristophanes, the title character tries to end the Peloponnesian War by telling all the non-single ladies to withhold sex from their husbands, which was shocking back then, sure. But the time has come to spice up what is no longer so spicy, so the Dallas-based Level Ground Arts theater troupe is offering up A Bollywood Lysistrata, which is set in India and includes extravagant Bollywood dance numbers. Take that, Aristophanes. See them perform the new show Friday through September 5 at the KD Studio Theatre, 2600 N. Stemmons Freeway, with performances at 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. For tickets (which are $20) or more information, visit levelgroundarts.com.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8:15 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Aug. 13. Continues through Sept. 5, 2010
