What Happens In Mexico...

When we think of Mexico, we think of spring breakers doing tequila shots off each other's bodies and attempting to swim in the ocean while wearing a sombrero. OK, maybe that's just Cancun. Well, there's much more to the country that is located south of Texas. From now until August 29, you can visit the Mildred Hawn Gallery in SMU's Hamon Arts Library (6100 Hillcrest Ave.) to learn more about Mexico's history. In celebration of the centennial of the Mexican Revolution, the gallery will display Mexico: Books and Portfolios from the Stanley Marcus Collection, DeGolyer Library. The exhibit includes drawings and color prints from Mexican artist Rufino Tamayo, a book featuring Diego Rivera's mural of the Mexican Revolution and drawings by Carlos Orozco Romero. Admission is free. Call 214-768-2661 for more info.
Thursdays, 8 a.m.-10 p.m.; Mondays-Wednesdays, Fridays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: July 1. Continues through Aug. 29, 2010
