Who Said Arts Kids Didn't Need Math?

To the average person who passed algebra and geometry, understanding the mathematical concept and various formulas behind modular art probably seems like a headache. Feel like wrapping your brain around why 9 + 4 = 1? Instead of cracking open a textbook, drop by the Brazos Gallery at Richland College (12800 Abrams Road) for Modular to see art pieces that demonstrate the mathematical concept. Prepare to see beehive-like sculptures, architectural drawings, abstract paintings and more. Modular features artists Eric Eley, Patrick Schneider and David Willburn. The exhibit is open through August 26 with hours 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays. For more information, visit www.rlc8.dcccd.edu/gallery.
Mondays-Fridays. Starts: Aug. 13. Continues through Aug. 26, 2010
