Ever find yourself belaboring body language, playlists and text messages only to end up with a gawking list of unanswerables? "What did he mean?" or "Is this a sign?" Dallas-native Rebecca Carter's new exhibition, Friendliness Towards all Things: or I Also Read (this)(into) What You Wrote, at Eastfield College, 3737 Motley Drive in Mesquite, incorporates historical documents--letters, photos, drawings and events--to explore what she calls "the collision between subjectivity and knowledge." Carter's work was recently exhibited in New Delhi, but this exhibit is open through September 3 in the nearby Gallery 219 of Eastfield's Fine Arts Building. For more information, call 972-860-7329 or visit dcccd.edu.
Mondays-Fridays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Starts: Aug. 27. Continues through Sept. 3, 2010
