Fans of Stephen Lapthisophon shouldn't expect a sculptural installation from the winner of 2008's Wynn Newhouse Award for artists with disabilities at his Gallery 219 exhibition, Specificity. What they can expect, however, is one fully cohesive exhibition and more incorporation of food into his exhibited photographs, as the show description cites "photographs in situ and seasonal fruit." Lapthisophon explained to Bad At Sports earlier this year that his recent, repeated use of food and "unorthodox" materials challenges traditional notions of craft and process. See if you agree 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays through October 8 at Gallery 219, in the Fine Arts Building of Eastfield College, 3737 Motley Drive in Mesquite.
Mondays-Fridays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Starts: Sept. 27. Continues through Oct. 8, 2010
