Used to be, Dallas Contemporary focused on just Texas artists. But then, used to be, Dallas Contemporary lived in a much different venue. Now housed in a larger, much more raw space--repurposed industrial quarters, actually, and one of the few like spaces in the US--the Contemporary has expanded its focus to, well...the title of the current exhibition should tell you: Here. There. & Beyond. Dallas Contemporary Legends 2010 honoree Joan Davidow curated an exhibition that would convey DC's mission to showcase artists locally, nationally and internationally, as well as one that would take advantage of the impressively sized artspace. Here. There. & Beyond. features large-scale works from Chad Sager (Here, Texas), Cindy Santos Bravo (Here, Texas), Gretchen Berggren (There, Santa Fe), Shawne Major (There, Louisiana), Anne Deleporte (Beyond, Paris), and Kit Reisch (Beyond, Prague). Expand your art horizons Tuesdays through Sundays until October 31 at Dallas Contemporary, 161 Glass St. in the Design District. Admission is free. Call 214-821-2522 or visit dallascontemporary.org.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Sept. 21. Continues through Oct. 31, 2010
