Deeply Spooky

For everyone who has ever said that Deep Ellum is dead...well, here you go: proof positive. Because throughout the month of October, all manner of dead things will be wandering around in Slaughterhouse 2010 as they set up shop at 2615 Elm St. Slaughterhouse is scarier than the bathrooms at the Prophet Bar! More tense than a group of wayward frat boys venturing into July Alley! And way more upsetting than a $30 ticket for a meter that expired three minutes before midnight! For those of you who like to get your jollies by pissing yourself in fright, the massive Slaughterhouse venue is the perfect place to go this year: Show up, get skeeerrrred and then walk to one of Deep Ellum's many fine establishments afterward for the drink you'll need to calm your nerves. Slaughterhouse 2010 is open from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Sundays, with special extended hours for Halloween weekend. Regular admission is $16, but if you reserve a $25 VIP ticket, you get to skip the line. Call 214-999-0708 or visit weslaughter.com for more information.
