The New-Time Comedy Show

How can you not love Kevin James and Vince Vaughn? Kevin is always the endearing and portly sidekick (with an asthma problem, if you remember his character in Hitch) and Vince is ever the fast-talking funny man who has cemented "ear muffs!" and "Dorothy Mantooth is a saint!" forever in our memories. And despite some bad press surrounding their forthcoming film (The Dilemma) and a scripted slam by Vaughn's character against gay people (which really isn't funny enough to legitimize the tastelessness and insensitivity), these two actors' lovableness has made them a pretty marketable duo. And fans of James and Vaughn will be pleased to hear that the team's Comedy Roadshow will be making a stop in Dallas. Taking a page from Adam Sandler's book--as in, the one where he gets all of his lesser-known friends cast in all of his movie projects--this show will feature appearances from comedians and actors that have worked with James and Vaughn in the past. The live sketch-comedy show will be hosted by the pair and will also showcase intermittent stand-up comedy by Richie Minervini, Owen Benajmin and Steve Byrne. The show is slated to start 7 p.m. Saturday at the Majestic Theatre in historic downtown Dallas. Tickets range from $40 to $65 and can be purchased at livenation.com.
Sat., Nov. 13, 7 p.m., 2010
