Watch Your Nuts, Dallas

You know the holiday season is just around the corner when tree ornaments and lights go up at Walgreen's, Christmas gift ideas start showing up in magazines and newspapers, and The Nutcracker (in some form or fashion) starts popping up on theater marquees. And this season for DFW, the nutcracking kicks off with the Moscow Ballet and their production of the Great Russian Nutcracker. The ballet will feature all of the original story staples: Clara, the Mouse King, and of course, Prince Nutcracker, and all will be beautifully portrayed in what is set to be the performance debut of Moscow Ballet principal dancer Alexandra Elagine and partner Anatolie Ustimov. The Great Russian Nutcracker opens 7:30 pm Friday at the Music Hall at Fair Park, with additional perfromances at 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Tickets start at $27.50. Call 1-800-745-3000 or visit nutcracker.com.
Fri., Nov. 19, 7:30 p.m.; Sat., Nov. 20, 2 p.m.; Sun., Nov. 21, 1 p.m., 2010
