Born with dyslexia, artist Todd Camplin has always had to read things over and over to make them make sense. Some people would be all whiny about having a learning difference like dyslexia, wherein the words and letters don't seem to hold still, but Camplin has turned his difference into an asset. Reading things over and over, he would form pictures of the words in his head. As an artist he has taken these visualizations a step further and the results can be viewed in his show Language Reconstruction. Camplin's visualizations have been put to paper in these recent ink drawings, so take advantage of the chance to look at them over and over at the Holly Johnson Gallery. The gallery is located at 1411 Dragon St. and is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Call 214-369-0169 or visit hollyjohnsongallery.com for more information.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Dec. 1. Continues through Dec. 24, 2010
