Just Like Bogie and Bergman

Is there anything more romantic than Rick telling Ilsa, the love of his life, to get on the plane at the end of Casablanca? Maybe the part where he holds his hands in his heads and says, "Of all the gin joints in all the world, she walks into mine." Directed by Michael Curtiz and released as America entered World War II, Casablanca centers on the of former lovers Rick and Ilsa, played by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman who still love each other despite her noble husband and the word war that is raging all around them. No one expected much out of the movie when it was initially released in 1942, but it's counted one of the greatest films ever made and turned Bogie into a sex symbol. If you're looking for something romantic to do with your honey on the big V-Day, head on over to Lakewood Theater, 1825 Abrams Rd, Dallas. Start the night off by taking a few turns on the dance floor to the music of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole as performed by local favorite Ricki Derek, before settling in to see one of the most romantic movies ever. Starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 to $30. Call 214-821-7469 or visit lakewoodtheater.com.
