Bound for the Soul

There is power in thread. Binding yet precarious, it weaves physical representations of abstract ideas to create multidimensional art. The actual thread in Tina Medina's Anima Sola is embroidery floss. The idea that it conveys is the title's translation ("Lonely Soul") via an exploration in thread, watercolors and other media. Anima Sola is on view from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays through March 23 at The Lago Vista Gallery, located in the Library on the Richland College Campus, 12800 Abrams Road. Admission is free. Call 972-238-6339 or visit richlandcollege.edu.
Mondays-Saturdays. Starts: Feb. 26. Continues through March 23, 2011
