Celebrating a Century

Ebby Halliday has become an institution as synonymous with the state of Texas as the State Fair itself...or even the Dallas Cowboys. In your mind, you are probably picturing the inimitable script used as her real estate logo, because if you have lived in the Lone Star State for even half a minute, there is a better than good chance that you have seen it. This classy and remarkable woman is heralded for so much more than selling homes and now, she can add one more reason to that list: She's about to turn 100 years old. And in celebration of her century-long existence, The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is putting on one helluva show. Along with famed international tenor Mario Frangoulis, guest soprano Andriana Chuchman and renowned conductor Albert-Geroge Schram, the DSO has an evening of musical entertainment planned to pay tribute to one of Dallas' greatest treasures as she celebrates a truly inspiring milestone. Following the concert, there will be an exclusive circus-themed dessert reception featuring the culinary delights of Food Network featured chef Bronwen Weber (of Dallas' own Frosted Art) in the Grand Lobby of the Myerson. The event begins at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, and tickets can be purchased through the DSO box office or by visiting dallassymphony.com.
Wed., March 9, 7:45 p.m., 2011
