Moving Pictures

Nothing says love like reeling through the musings of the family table. The pokes, the prods and incessant meanderings about how things were "way back when" are enough to drive anyone back to the kids' table. But despite all the annoyances, our family is ultimately what brings focus to our lives. Exploring this concept in a new and evocative fashion, Fred Curchack's one-man show, Grandpa's Home Videos, will host its Dallas premiere this weekend at the Bath House Cultural Center, 521 E. Lawther Drive. Written and performed by Fred Curchack, the production will feature four generations of the Curchack clan in video format, including Fred's mother, daughter, infant granddaughter and wife/collaborator Laura Jorgensen. Through the comedic revelations contained in old family movies, the Curchack women help Grandpa Fred learn the true secret of life. Grandpa's Home Videos will runs at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through March 26. Tickets are $15. Call 972-740-2769 or visit dallasculture.org.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: March 11. Continues through March 26, 2011
