May the Luck of the Irish Be With You

Do you really need us to explain this one? Good Luck Karaoke? It's so obvious, but we'll do it anyway: First of all, there's the whole luck o' the Irish thing -- that ties in with the name. Then there's the ancient Irish tradition of karaoke. The word "karaoke" roughly translates, in Gaelic, to "public song, pants-optional." Wait, what?

OK, for real, people. St. Patrick's Day or not, Good Luck Karaoke is just something you don't want to pass up, something to experience at least once, if not weekly. At approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursdays, The Billiard Bar (1920 Greenville Ave.) breathes new life as Oliver Pecker and Josh Hammertimez (they're given names, we're assured) provide quality, if not bizarre, karaoke hosting services. Each Thursday features a new theme, so check out the website and come prepared to chortle and be chortled at. Oh, and do watch out for Hammertimez on St. Pat's if he busts out with that "shillelagh." Visit facebook.com/GOODLUCKKARAOKE for details.
Thursdays, 10:30 p.m.-2 a.m., 2010
