Famous Faces

The Magnolia Gallery (located inside the West Village's Magnolia Theatre) has shown work by some of the Dallas area's best local artists, and the current exhibition is a prime example of the talent this city has to offer . Artist Cabe Booth has been an vital part of the Dallas scene for well over a decade (his most recent contribution to Art Conspiracy, a portrait of Dennis Hopper, broke auction records for the philanthropic organization), and tens of thousands of people are fans of his work, whether they realize it or not. Booth's well known portraits of music and entertainment royalty have graced the walls of music venues including Curtain Club, the former Nokia Theatre and the Palladium, and this month his portraits will make their way to cinema via the walls of the Magnolia Gallery in his current exhibit New Works. Catch it through May 11 during the regular theater hours of the Magnolia Theatre, 3699 McKinney Ave. Call 214-683-9134 or visit magnoliagallerydallas.com.
