Tones, melodies, projections, paints, oils and pencils all twist, turn and mold together as one artistic vision for the common good of artists everywhere as the Dallas Opera presents its 2011 Gala, UNVEIL. Featuring "A Question of Light," a collection of songs based off of artwork by Rene Magritte, Gustave Caillebotte, Piet Mondrian, Rufino Tamayo, Gerald Murphy and the Mayas currently on display at the Dallas Museum of Art, the event is dedicated to Dallas art philanthropist Margaret McDermott. Songs will be performed by American baritone Nathan Gunn. The celebration includes a cocktail party before the show, with an onstage dinner and silent auction to follow. The Dallas Opera 2011 Gala takes place 7 p.m. Friday at the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora St. For more information call 214-443-1063or visit dallasopera.org.
