Surely, considering the glowing reviews, Dallasites are pumped about the upcoming stop of the Violent Torpedo of Truth Tour starring America's new favorite crazy person. However, if an evening of delusional ranting is not your cup of tea and you would rather spend your precious dollars, time and brain cells on someone more worthy, look no further than the Bass Performance Hall. The Fort Worth concert venue hosts the immensely talented and successful (and everyone's favorite Steel Magnolia, let's be honest) Shirley MacLaine 8 p.m. Saturday. MacLaine will spend the evening recounting the most important and influential moments that span her half-century career. The Oscar- and Emmy-winning actress, best-selling author, AND sister to Warren Beatty will be commenting on a montage of her most noteworthy performances (step aside Terms of Endearment...hello Mrs. Winterbourne!), all the while offering interesting (and somewhat provocative) first-hand accounts of her experiences along the way. And, of course, in a style that only Ouiser Boudreaux could muster. Tickets range in price from $33 to $66 and can be purchased at the Bass Performance Hall ticket office or by calling 817-212-4280. For more information or directions, visit basshall.com.
