A Kettle We Cannot Do Without

There's one thing the chaps around here can't live without, and that's the brew-kettle. Without tea our coverage of nightlife in this town would cast about like a ship lost in the drink. Though, that's not all that true because we aren't British. In fact, we only raid the tea when the office runs out of coffee. But there's the other kettle we really can't live without, the Kettle Art Gallery, where we can always find a healthy dose of the local -- and sometimes international -- artistry, without which we would surely be creatively adrift. Kettle's latest show features Romanian artist Dan Colcer, Dallas native Clint Scism, a 3-D-collage and sketch specialist, and Mark Nelson, a Dallas artist who claims he earned his chops from boxcar graffiti. The Kettle Art Gallery, 2714 Elm St., is open 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The exhibit is free and continues through May 14. For more information, call 214-573-7622 or visit kettleart.com.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: April 21. Continues through May 14, 2011
