Dancing Is Murder

If Murder at the Orient Burlesque was set in a strip club we'd have to go all women's lib on ya. Since it's set in the wonderful world of burlesque you won't hear a peep from us. The play kicks off with a Russian princess joining the burlesque troop. She's brings along a ton of trouble, of course, so it's no shock she ends up dead, and everyone has a motive. Basically, think Agatha Christie's classic mystery Murder on the Orient Express if she ditched all of those proper murderous folks on a train and replaced them with burlesque beauties. This is the world premiere of the show, presented by Rover Dramawerks and written by local playwright Carol Rice, so go check it out before the run ends this weekend at the Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 H Ave. in Plano, at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday. Tickets are $16 to $20. Call 972-849-0358 or visit roverdramawerks.com.
Thursdays-Saturdays. Starts: May 19. Continues through June 11, 2011
