What the hell is the Village at Fairview trying to pull? They're screening family-friendly movies for free on the first Saturday of the month throughout the summer and, get this, inviting families to come watch them. Together. We're a little bit suspicious, as frankly, the idea of watching a movie as a family is a distant memory, one that conjures the intertwining smells of overheated VHS tape, Jiffy Pop and Mom's Coors Light as we all jostle for the position closest to the TV. Don't we all have our own laptops, TVs and phones so that we don't have to spend time together looking at the same screen?
