Looking for a way to make a difference in your weight before summer hits full-force? Now's your chance. Dr. Neal Barnard details his three-week vegan weight-loss program and signs his new book, 21-Day Weight Loss Kickstart: Boost Metabolism, Lower Cholesterol, and Dramatically Improve Your Health at the Southlake Library, 1400 Main St. 7 p.m. Thursday. Dr. Barnard is a nutrition researcher and the author of 14 books on diet and health. The program does not require calorie counting or even exercise, but provides three weeks of recipes, nutrition information and cooking tips. Katherine Lawrence, a local nutrition and cooking instructor, will provide a cooking demonstration and sample recipes from Dr. Barnard's book.
