The undead tend to leave a lasting impression, whether it's a spine-chilling commercial for a midnight showing of George Romero's Night of the Living Dead or The Cranberries' hit protest song or Target's "Kids' Heartless Zombie Costume" for boys. Or, maybe, it's watching young adult zombies slowly stagger across the stage in a theatrical performance of Romero's cult classic, performed by the Dallas Children's Theater's Teen Scene Players. Lori Allen Ohm adapted for the stage this familiar survival-of-the-fittest yarn about radiation from a fallen satellite unleashing flesh-eating animated corpses that surround the protagonists in a desolate farmhouse. The all-teen production of Night of the Living Dead is meant to be participatory rather than passive, as the cast bounds around the stage dressed in period-ish attire with antique phones and wooden vacuum tube radio cabinets. But beware: The PG-13-style production contains "strong language and situations." Tickets are $10, and zombies will shuffle around the stage at 5938 Skillman St., through October 30: 7:30 p.m. Fridays; 1:30 p.m. this Saturday; 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, October 29; and 1:30 p.m. Sundays.
