More About

Oh, the weather outside is … mildly unpleasant, necessitating neither a heavy woolen coat nor thermal undies, and while we can understand your confusion during this January relative “heat wave,” the best way to cope is to take it off (your coat, that is) and visit Unadorned: Drawings of the Nude at the Pollock Gallery in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center on the SMU campus. Part of the “Pollock Works on Paper Study Collection,” the exhibition runs through February 11, and features American artists Lois Dodd, Nathan Oliveira, Sigmund Abeles and John Lincoln. Born in the 1920s and ’30s in disparate locations across the county, these artists each came of age professionally in the 1950s and respectively had a meaningful impact on abstract expressionism and Figurative art. The Pollock Gallery is located at 3140 Dyer St. and is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Call 214-768-4439 for more details.
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturdays, 1-5 p.m. Starts: Jan. 31. Continues through Feb. 11, 2012
