Huh. Well, it seems some Observer editor doesn’t think much of science fiction, referring to this weekend’s SFX Sci-Fi Expo, taking place at the Irving Convention Center, as “dorkocity.” That seems a little dismissive of a genre that’s brought us A Canticle for Leibowitz and works from the likes of Kurt Vonnegut, Harlan Ellison, Philip K. Dick, Ursula Le Guin and William Gibson, to name a few. Listen, buddy, we’re not all pointy-ear wearing, nerdy fanboys who never kissed a girl. We deserve resp … HOLY SHIT! Eliza Dushku is coming to freakin’ Irving! Autographs are $40 and photo-ops are $50! Break out my Authentic Replica® Angel jacket, she is so OHMYGAWD hot. Ahem, to continue: The expo also will feature appearances from Firefly cast members Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Ron Glass and Sean Maher, along with a host of other actors, comic book artists, exhibits, panel discussions and, we’re guessing, a bunch of guys dressed up like Sith. (Jesus, what immature dorks.) General admission is $15, plus more for autographs and photos. Hours are 11 a.m. till 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 500 W. Las Colinas Blvd. Visit scifiexpo.com/DCC/Home.html for a full schedule.
