While edgy is good, poise is equally important — especially when you’re talking about hard, steel constructions. Artist Marko Kratohvil has found the perfect balance between the traditional and the contemporary. Smooth surfaces of iron and steel collide with the sharp and abrupt bends and sudden loops in his sculptures. A native of Yugoslavia, Kratohvil lived most of his life in the U.K. before recently moving to Oklahoma City. Enter a new sphere that fuses two extremes together in Gallery A in the Cohn Drennan Contemporary. The small exhibition opens Thursday and runs through March 3. Cohn Drennan Contemporary is located at 1107 Dragon St. and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesdays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: Feb. 9. Continues through March 3, 2012
