In his famous short film Rejected, Don Hertzfeldt depicts himself as a down-on-his luck illustrator who acts out his spiraling madness through squiggly cartoon stickmen. Each segment grows progressively more insane until characters are bludgeoning one another for their inappropriate selection of head wear. God we love this man. He's screened the first two segments of his more recent series, Everything Will Be Okay in recent years. They also quivered and shook our stop-motion hearts, so now that he's completed the Okay trilogy with his newest and longest to date film, It's Such a Beautiful Day(it clocks in at 23 minutes), you'll be able to watch the series in its entirety, and on a 35 mm reel. The Austin illustrator will guide Friday's viewing at Texas Theatre, give history on how the stories were developed and answer audience questions. If you hate fun, stay home. If you love fun, buy a $10 ticket at Texastheatre.com and show up at 7:30 p.m., preferably dressed as a banana.
