More About

He’s rapped a hip-hop version of Alexander Hamilton’s life, performed at the White House in its first-ever poetry jam and became an instant sensation for writing and starring in a four-time Tony Award-winning musical. Lin-Manuel Miranda, a Puerto Rican-American composer and lyricist, is not your conventional entertainer. In the Heights, a genius musical blending Broadway and rap, was conceived by Miranda during his sophomore year at Wesleyan University. The musical is set in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood where culture, community and generations of music are celebrated. Luring both traditional and non-traditional theatergoers, Miranda explores the common ties of change, hopes, dreams and pressures that unite us all as human beings. In collaboration with the AT&T Performing Arts Center, Miranda will reprise his role of Usnavi at the NasherSalon, 2001 Flora Street. Tickets are $50 for members and $65 for non-members.
