If you study dance and know you're destined to break into the professional performance world, you must find a mentor to help you along. Enter scene, The Beat. This two-day, beat-droppin, crunk-pressing dance workshop is directed by Courtney Galiano and features features guest choreographer Comfort Fedoke; you'll recognize both girls from So You Think You Can Dance Season Four. The camp is packed with educators who know exactly what it takes to break into the business, including SYTYCD's co-executive producer, Jeff Thacker, who will answer questions, host a television audition seminar and a mock audition session on Saturday. Students get classroom education in jazz, contemporary and hip-hop methods, autograph signings with celebrity teachers and even a dancers only luau party on Saturday night.
