Give Art A Chance

We would say that it’s the “Woodstock of Dallas arts,” but you should envision less mud and more glamour. As the third annual three-day Dallas Art Fair approaches, collectors, artists and art lovers plan their descent upon Big D in a whirlwind of flash and flair. Taking place in the Fashion Industry Gallery (FIG) at 1807 Ross Ave., the festival will host more than 20,000 patrons enjoying the work of 75 local galleries spanned across the FIG’s 70,000 square feet. Presenting paintings, sculptures, works on paper, photography, video and installation, the festival celebrates an eclectic amalgamation of all the best art that Dallas has fostered and promoted over the last year. General admission tickets are $25 for a one-day pass or $50 for all three days, and you can purchase them in advance at dallasartfair.com. There you will find more information about student and senior discounts, as well as luxurious packages such as the $600 “Premiere Patron Pass,” which provides access to the fair’s most exclusive exhibits and events, such as the Preview Gala on Thursday. The official festival runs Friday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Call 214-220-1278 to learn more about premiere services and festivities offered by local restaurants and businesses.
