A Quentin Tarantino-themed burlesqueperformance, like tonight’s by Iggy Rodriguez & Bettie’s Deadly Dolls, lends itself to many interesting options. There are the obvious: Uma as a hep kitten dancing off a five-dollar shake and Uma as a samurai bride lookin’ for revenge, but instead finding a skin-tight banana yellow jumpsuit. Also, Butterfly giving that scintillating lap dance (while wearing flip flops, ohAustin) in Death Proof. What about non-traditionally sexy scenes from Tarantino flicks? Will they perform the one from Reservoir Dogs in which Mr. Blonde slices Marvin’s face open with a straight razor and then sets him on fire with gasoline while “Stuck In The Middle With You” plays? How about the gimp torture from Pulp Fiction? Funny accents from Inglourious Basterds? You’ll only know if you attend Friday’s show at the Boiler Room, 2723 Elm St. It’s $8 at the door, themed costumes are encouraged, the JuJu Beans will make music and the cover goes to The Fisher House, an organization that funds military families during medical emergencies.
