Mother Nature's Day

Wearing “I love the Earth” shirts just won’t cut it this Earth Day. Neither will lying in the grass trying to identify the different faces and shapes of the clouds. But saying you attempted (and maybe even achieved) to break the world record for the largest simultaneous global picnic is pretty darn cool. Step up to the challenge by sparing 30 minutes of your day Sunday between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. as The Nature Conservancy and Earth Day Dallas join forces to celebrate Earth Day. This annual event is being held at Fair Park this year, which gives you access to more than 600,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor events, from learning how you can be more environmentally friendly to participating in workshops to watching dance performances. So put on your green and head out to Fair Park Saturday and Sunday. For a full list of events, visit earthdaydallas.org. Admission is free.
Sun., April 22, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m., 2012
