Sitcoms and dramas often draw from the odd-couple cliché. Whether its the standard slob and neat-freak paring or the oversexed moron and the undersexed joker, the varieties are as endless as they are stale. But Geoffrey Nauffts’ play Next Fall takes this device and amps it up, making for a more unlikely and touching comedy. Adam, an atheist, and Luke, a devout Christian, aren’t just roommates or coworkers, they’re in a committed relationship. In spite of the radical difference in their personal beliefs, they manage to form a long-lasting and emotional bond. But when they face a tragic accident, Adam turns to Luke’s religious and disapproving family for support and answers. The show runs through May 6 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd. Tickets start at $15. Call 214-880-0202 or visit dallastheatercenter.org for more information.
