What started four years ago as a means to cover the medical costs of a few displaced dogs in Atlanta has now grown across multiple states and raised $45,000 for nonprofits in the process. PBR for PUPS combines all of life’s most wonderful components: kegs of Pabst, do-gooder motives and lots and lots of crawfish. Your $20 donation at the door gets you access to those insect-lookin’ swamp delicacies, two cups of PBR, shimmy-shake time with three bands (The Harrisons, the Catdaddies and When Squirrels Attack, the last of which dogs hate) and the overall glow that comes from donating cash to a great cause. Your funds will go to the coffers of Animal Rescue of Texas, a nonprofit, volunteer-run foster and education program that gives countless pets a great life. All you gotta do is show up to the Green Elephant, 5627 Dyer St., from 2 to 8 p.m. and party. You lucky dog. Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
