There are plenty of reason for geeks to drink, from the passing of Ray Bradbury earlier this month to George Lucas’ announcement that he’s retiring, though that might be celebratory drinking for many of you. Geeks Who Drink gives a whole new reason, and that’s a pop culture twist on the classic booze-soaked trivia night. Seldom do nerds, geeks and dweebs shine brighter than when they are actually asked to interject with the typically unwelcome “well, actually” correction, and that’s exactly what they’re asked to do in this team-based geek-off. Topics range from “TV Shows Your Parents Watch” to “Eight Questions About Sex That Won’t Make You Too Uncomfortable,” but, thanks to player-suggested topics and a no-repeat policy, they can be almost anything. Geeks Who Drink face off at 8 p.m. on Mondays at the Texas Theatre, 231 West Jefferson Blvd. Attendance is free. For more information, visit geekswhodrink.com.
Mondays. Starts: June 18. Continues through Dec. 31, 2012
