While patriotism is the basic thread of July 4, the fuse wins out every time. Here in Texas, we take our pyrotechnics seriously because, let's face it: Lighting things on fire and watching them explode is one of life's greatest gifts. It's science. Also, it's childhood regression. Who cares? It's rad. Here's where to go to watch stuff go blammo. Watch an Airhogs baseball game at QuickTrip Park (1600 Lone Star Parkway ), then stick around for all kindsa wholesome fun. There will be bounce houses, face painting, miniature golf and photos with the world's greatest mascot, Ace Bacon. Tickets cost $8 to $15 and parking is free. Game starts at 6:05 p.m. with post-game fireworks. Visit airhogsbaseball.com. Win: Gamble on the ponies over at Lone Star Park. Place: (1000 Lone Star Parkway, Grand Prairie).
