Nature lovers, this one is for you. The Reel Paddling Film Festival makes its first stop ever in the heart of Oak Cliff. The Texas Theatre will play host to this festival that calls on paddling junkies and environmental enthusiasts to come together and watch short films about paddling through clear blue waters and the sport’s connection to American culture. There will be a lot of short works included in the one-night celebration, including Wild Water, a quickie about a group of adrenaline junkies who paddle down the fiercest, craziest rivers in the United States. The film highlights the natural beauty of the environments used by paddlers while celebrating the sport itself. Visitors will also have the opportunity to speak with Texas Parks and Wildlife officials about local environmental initiatives, meet other paddlers and browse through some cool paddling gear. The Texas Theater is located at 231 W. Jefferson Blvd. Tickets cost $7 for children and $10 for adults.
