The DADA Gallery Walk and bike swarm is the SXSW of Dallas arts. Here, you’ll have an entire day (well, 2 to 8 p.m. anyway) to explore 40 of DADA’s participating art nooks, big and small, throughout the area. DADA has so many members that whether you’re in Uptown, Downtown, Oak Cliff, Richardson, Farmers Branch, East Dallas, Denton or hell, even Arlington, there are spaces that you should visit and explore. A new addition to Gallery Walk is the inclusion of Bike Friendly Oak Cliff, that posse of brave two-wheelers across the bridge who like to party in pack formation. Saturday, you can join them. There’s a schedule posted on DADA’s information page at dallasartdealers.org to align you with your drink-loving, art-craving, free-wheeling brethren. The McKinney Avenue Contemporary, another DADA joint, is hosting a couple of panel discussions titled “How do I get in, and do I want to?” that focus on MFA programs and gallery sponsorship. Those panels are the only part of the day when you’ll drop any cash, and they’re a steal at $10 each in advance or $15 at the door. Gallery hobnobbing is totally free.
