More About

One dark and stormy night, Lady Enid arrives at a spooky old estate with her new husband. But the ghost of his first wife haunts the place (shades of DuMaurier’s Rebecca) and a portrait over the mansion’s fireplace seems to hold the answers to “Why?” Camp classic The Mystery of Irma Vep, now playing at WaterTower Theatre, is Charles Ludlam’s outrageous comedy spoof of Hitchcock films, Gothic horror stories and Victorian melodrama. Two actors play all the roles, hopping in and out of wigs and dresses for lots of cross-dressing mayhem. Regan Adair (a popular Dallas leading man back from New York for this show) and Bryan T. Donovan star in the production directed by Terry Martin. Wednesday’s show begins at 7:30 p.m., and performances continue through October 21 at WaterTower Theatre, 15650 Addison Road in Addison. Tickets are $20 to $50 at 972-450-6232.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: Oct. 3. Continues through Oct. 21, 2012
