Raise your hand if you’ve never seen John Carpenter’s Halloween. Now explain to everyone how, in the 35 years one of the most legendary horror movies has existed, you haven’t taken the time to watch it. If you’ve witnessed the introduction of Michael Myers to the world, know that you have our approval and just think back to Jamie Lee Curtis’ kick-ass blood-curdling scream. Now, how insanely cool would it be to relive that at The Texas Theatre (231 W. Jefferson Blvd.) in Oak Cliff? The devilish forces behind beloved local filmsite I Heart Cinema are taking you back to a shuttered closet of hangers and horror with a screening of Halloween at 8 p.m. on Halloween. But get there early (7 p.m.), because DJ Casper will provide ghoul tunes in the lobby, your costume shall be judged (and possibly prized), Halloween-themed drinks will flow, and free movie goodies are handed out. Savage and the Big Beat perform after the screening, which is $9.50 ($8 for theater members). Visit thetexastheatre.com.
