We all have days when we wake up and wonder why we are who we are. Richard Lewis’ life is like that. A veteran stand-up comic who’s made a career out of self-loathing, Richard will be at the Addison Improv (4980 Belt Line Road #250) this Thursday through Sunday. He’s on his never-ending comedy tour, The Tracks of My Fears. “I go on stage to get validation that I’m not insane,” he says. If Richard is, we all are. Spooked by his age (he’s in his 60s), the recently married Richard is “happy on one hand and freaked on the other,” he says. “’Cause deep down I’m thinking, maybe this is the last show. One more Diet Coke in the dressing room, and that’s it.” We hope not, but just in case, you should secure some tickets soon on improv.com. They’ll cost $20 to $32. Follow Richard on Twitter at @TheRichardLewis, where the same people who love him also call him a Jew Bastard when the mood strikes.
